Job description: POSITION GOALResponsible for managing staff and technology resources and performing work across multiple areas of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system or similar environment, including but not limited to system administration of ERP Software relating to designing, developing, testing, documenting, and improving custom programs and interfaces. Responsible for ensuring compliance to IT and security policies, procedures, and standards in addition to assisting the Director in maintaining or enhancing the ERP System, managing changes to system programming, minimizing the risk of disrupting daily operations of the District, and working with customers within assigned area of support to ensure acceptable delivery of services are maintained.ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIESThe Manager, Information Technology -ERP Development & Support shall carry out the essential performance responsibilities listed below.

  • Supervise the work of assigned staff to ensure staff accuracy, quality, timeliness, progress toward department goals, and compliance with department standards by proactively monitoring work progress and results of on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage, evaluate, troubleshoot, and recommend security access for sensitive data regarding daily work, legal discoveries, journaling, or public records request.
  • Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of ERP technology systems.
  • Create appropriate interface designs so information can be passed between legacy and ERP systems as needed.
  • Research and evaluate possible software solutions, design, and implement appropriate corrective actions by creating transports as needed for changes in configuration, table maintenance, and other related ERP tasks.
  • Review approve/reject and coordinate movement of transportable changes through the system landscape.
  • Maintain and enhance the ERP system to efficiently and effectively support work practices, District policies, legal and fiscal/budget requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and personnel administration by assisting management in developing, monitoring, and enforcing accurate and effective business processes.
  • Collaborate with the appropriate school/department to determine the compatibility and effectiveness of current work processes, and their interaction with the system, relative to system capability to determine need for new work processes or enhancement to existing processes.
  • Coordinate changes needed to the regular production run schedule. Manage special runs for periodic processes.
  • Coordinate charter school DOE data collection by communicating schedules and deadlines to the charter schools.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve work process issues, document system user’s needs and problems.
  • Document each new or changed work process procedure, report, service, or utility.
  • Design, manage, coordinate, and complete projects assigned by developing a project plan, marshaling the resources to execute the project plan, and performing the necessary activities to ensure completion of the projects by set deadlines.
  • Develop procedures, guidelines, documentation, and protocols for the use of ERP system solutions.
  • Recommend, develop, and enforce policies on ERP system use and services.
  • Provide leadership and/or supervise staff as assigned.
  • Select, train, motivate and mentor information technology staff, assist with staff professional development and work to correct performance deficiencies when needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • An earned bachelor’s degree in computer science or management information systems from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of) five (5) years, within the last eight (8) years of increasingly responsible experience designing, developing testing, and improving custom programs and interfaces for an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system or similar environment.

OR

  • An earned associate degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years, within the last fifteen (15) years of increasingly responsible experience in designing, developing, testing, documenting, integrating, configuring, analyzing, and improving custom programs and interfaces in an ERP or similar environment.

AND

  • Data Dictionary modifications and development.
  • Dialog programming.
  • Exits and Interfaces/conversions
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Proficiency in ERP system programming.
  • Familiarity with managing system modifications and custom programs affected by vendor provided changes during upgrades, enhancements, support package stacks, and rollouts ensuring modifications and custom programs are working as expected.
  • Proven experience with effective planning, organizing, and analyzing situations and data.
  • User demonstrated experience of standard programming practices, processes, and principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills as required for the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree major in Information Technology with concentration in Computer Programming or Management Information Systems.
  • Experience in SAP (ABAP) programming applications with project implementation.
  • Bilingual skills
