The Sydney Dental School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer, Orthodontics – Clinical Education. This position is crucial in making significant contribution to teaching and learning practice and engages in educational leadership within the school.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- contribute to knowledge within the discipline and outstanding teaching and learning outcomes
- contribute to the research, education, and administrative activities of the discipline/ School/ Faculty
- engage with professional learning opportunities provided at the faculty and University level including the Graduate Certificate (Higher Education) and working towards Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy
- willing to take undertake a part-time secondment to the LHD to treat public patients
- engage in seeing public patients at the Dental School
- maintain an understanding of the University’s strategic agenda and contributes to furthering that agenda
About you
- a BDS/DMD or equivalent primary qualification allowing for registration as a dental practitioner with general registration in Australia
- a relevant graduate degree (desirable)
- a proven ability, commitment and passion for engaging in scholarly activities to inform innovative pedagogical practice
- demonstrated capacity to stimulate, actively engage and educate an audience using a range of media
- deep and broad experience in teaching and learning in a tertiary environment, as evidenced by participation in team teaching within an established program and experience in teaching in a variety of settings
- demonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives
- developing network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders
- experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities.
