- Lead unit teaching teams in Deakin’s undergraduate International Relations major and Master of International Relations programs.
- Contribute to a culture of excellence and collaboration in International Relations teaching and research.
- Adopt innovation in curriculum design and deliver student-centric, research-informed teaching practices.
- Build a national and international reputation, based on a growing body of research in one or more areas of International Relations that is recognised for quality, excellence and impact.
- Initiate, design, conduct and/or lead intra- and inter-disciplinary research collaborations and support and/or lead applications for external competitive funding.
- Supervise Honours and HDR students.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- A PhD in International Relations or related discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience.
- A sub-speciality including, but not limited to, critical security, gender and/or postcolonial studies and/or international relations in the Indo-Pacific and/or East Asia.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.
- Demonstrated capacity to contribute to teaching the core units in Deakin’s undergraduate International Relations major and the Master of International Relations.
- Emerging national and international reputation in research and scholarship in International Relations as demonstrated by a strong record of high-quality academic publications and/or success in obtaining external research funding, relative to opportunity.
