TRAVEL REQUIRED: 0% – 10%COMPENSATION: $111,561.00 to $196,028.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.About Our OpportunityThe lead is responsible for the technical integrity of products developed by the team. They facilitate activities with the development team to maintain a consistency in coding standards. They are expected to help develop the team through mentoring and assistance in new technologies, as well as provide the expertise on those currently supported within the company. They will serve as a liaison to the Enterprise Application architect on technical issues and concerns. They are to promote unit testing/TDD and assist in addressing either production issues or coding roadblocks as they arise.How You Will Spend Your Time
- Provides technical and systems design expertise to assist in the development, implementation, review and upgrade of Microsoft.Net-based management and decision making systems. Is proactive in providing suggestions in regards to product development, new services and technologies or enhancements to existing systems/configurations which will assist the end user in improving overall service to our customers.
- Facilitates estimates of project requests; deliver timely based on the estimates.
- Actively participates on assigned team projects fulfilling task assignments, meeting deadlines, and proactively seeking attainment of team goals.
- Coaches and mentors new hires and work with all developers in areas of needed help.
- Stays up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in order to facilitate future development needs to provide most efficient support to end users.
- Assists in the development of programming expertise within the systems development team.
- Promotes Agile practices such as TDD, Continuous Integration, paired programming, Scrum, Automated Unit Testing and cross-functional development within the team.
- Schedules cross team code reviews on a regular basis.
Minimum Education & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree (or equivalent relevant work experience) in computer science, business or related field.7 years experience with demonstrated exemplary work developing software applications using most of the following technologies: C#, Microsoft.Net, Angular, JavaScript, JQuery, MVC, Active Server Pages (ASP), HTML, CSS; Windows-based development tools; proficient with MS SQL Server, MS Access, or Team Foundation Server or other source code repositories; candidate should have excellent financial business knowledge, demonstrated team mentoring abilities; must demonstrate the ability to be self-directed and work independently; coaches and maintains strong relationships within the development team while handling multiple projects.Mental & Physical RequirementsWhile engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds.
