Your Role
Applications are now invited from qualified educators for the position of Kindergarten Assistant to support St Francis Xavier Catholic Kindergarten, Mackay. This is a term-time contract position for 30.4hpw commencement from 15 April 2024 until 6 December 2024 with the possibility of a continuing position from 2025.
This position reports directly to the Kindergarten Director or person appointed to be responsible for the centre. Other key relationships include children, families and the Early Learning & Care Manager.
As a Kindergarten Assistant you will play a vital role in supporting kindergarten teachers and students in their learning journey. Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with classroom activities, including lesson preparation and resource organisation
- Providing one-on-one or small group support to students, including students with additional needs.
- Monitoring student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers
- Assisting with administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and organising educational materials.

Mandatory Requirements
- A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
- A minimum Cert III in Children’s Services (or working towards) or equivalent is required. A Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent (
approved qualifications) is preferred. * First Aid Certificate, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Training (ACECQA approved)
