Job description: Key Responsibilities:
1.Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for joinery and fitout projects, including materials, labor, and overheads, based on project drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
2.Bill of Quantities (BOQ): Create and review detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for joinery and fitout works, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
3.Tender Submissions: Manage the preparation of tender submissions for joinery and fitout projects, including sourcing materials and obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
4.Material Selection: Work with design and procurement teams to select appropriate materials and products for the project, ensuring they align with project budgets and specifications.
5.Cost Control and Analysis: Track and monitor project costs during the construction phase, ensuring that projects stay within the estimated budget. Provide cost control reports and advise project managers on potential cost overruns or savings.
6.Site Visits: Conduct site visits when necessary to assess project requirements, understand scope changes, and update estimates accordingly.
7.Supplier & Subcontractor Engagement: Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers to obtain quotations for materials, labor, and services for the fitout works.
8.Project Support: Collaborate with the project management team to ensure smooth coordination of work, including providing any necessary adjustments to cost estimates based on design changes or unforeseen circumstances.
9.Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks that may impact the cost or progress of the project and advise management accordingly.
10.Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and estimates for management and clients, outlining the scope, cost, and timeline for projects.
11.Maintain Databases: Maintain accurate records of past projects, estimates, and supplier quotes to support future estimation processes.Required Skills and Qualifications:
1.Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
2.Proven experience (2+ years) in estimating for joinery, interior fitout, or construction projects.
3.Strong knowledge of joinery materials, fitout processes, and construction techniques.
4.Proficiency in AUTOCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
5.Excellent numerical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
6.Solid understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
7.Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
8.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
9.Good understanding of cost management, project budgeting, and procurement processes.
10.Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
