  • Leads the research, planning, design, development, testing, implementation, support and management of web and social media-related projects, which encompasses multiple websites, social media channels, services, technologies, and platforms.
  • Ensure web site design, content, format, and modifications comply with all related federal, DoD, and NDU publication, IT, security, and accessibility laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Ensure INSS websites are aesthetically pleasing, logically constructed, and easy to use. Ensure content is properly maintained, oversee all testing, review, maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality of all INSS websites.
  • The Senior Digital Media Specialist ensures the manuscript acquisition system is properly designed and the publication repository remains up-to-date and easy to search and navigate.
  • Provides technical consultation, advice, guidance, and services include new website development, creating e-newsletters and blogs, producing and storing podcasts, and engaging on social media.

  • Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
  • Customer Service- experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs.
  • Oral Communication- briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Problem Solving- identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions.

You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.Specialized Experience is defined as: 1) utilizing web and social media technologies; 2) managing and maintaining websites and social media platforms; and 3) troubleshooting technical issues.Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
