And we care for the future by supporting sustainability, protecting the local environment, and promoting societal equity.This position is the manager of the Application Development Team within the Actuarial department that’s responsible for the end to-end design, development, and maintenance of efficiency applications used in the every-day activities of the Actuaries.Responsible for managing an IT capability or service delivery function. This position is responsible for ensuring the overall success of small to medium projects, enhancements, and production support through direction, coordination and oversight of a local or global team of employees and professional services. This role will establish, manage and continually develop an IT staff of direct reports to meet the evolving business needs. Establish and maintain a close working relationship with business leaders to ensure best practices, policies, procedures and tools meet the strategic needs of the capability and the business. You will report to the Director Actuary of the Modeling & Application Development function.What you do:

  • Manage staff to solve complex problems considering required business functionality, sustainability and scalability of solutions.
  • Identify, coach and develop talent within the team, provide opportunities for learning and growth and clearly communicate job and performance expectations.
  • Ensure employee engagement action plans are developed and reviewed within the team and identified action items are achieved.

  • Platform Availability and Stability
  • Ensure supported IT systems are stable and available.
  • Ensure that new functionality and enhancements do not adversely affect existing IT solutions that support the business functionality.
  • Take action to ensure platforms supported are stable and available.
  • Ensure currency of upgrade path is consistent with IT strategy and business expectations.
  • Provide input to capacity, volume, growth, retirement, SLA’s and OLA’s.
  • Delivery
  • Deliver projects, solutions and IT services in support of approved business and technology driven portfolios of work.
  • Deliver solutions that meet functional requirements, meet delivery schedules and are within cost projections and are of high quality.
  • Contribute to the full stack build and review of Actuarial applications using C#, SQL, ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript & supporting frameworks (Node.JS, Vue.JS, Angular, jQuery), HTML, CSS / Bootstrap, AJAX, SOAP, WSDL, XML, version control (SVN / GIT), build tools (CruiseControl.NET, Jenkins, Nuget, NPM), IIS, windows & webservice development.
  • Develop and maintain a framework for ongoing automated testing with nUnit and MS Test.
  • Prepare and present IT solution recommendations, status updates and business value propositions to the highest levels of business and IT leadership.
  • Demonstrate big picture and strategic thinking as the business evolves.
  • Collaborate with and actively support other IT functions to ensure overall IT success.
  • Utilize artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI).

What you bring:

  • 4+ years’ of experience leading and directing IT solution delivery required
  • 4+ years of experience preferred managing or individually performing in a business role having developed an understanding of the financial products and/or business model
  • 4+ years of experience preferred managing varied IT functions and has experience interacting with business management.
  • Four-year degree in technical discipline, engineering, business, mathematics, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require immigration sponsorship for visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B, L-1, TN, etc). If you are currently on CPT/OPT, you are ineligible due to the need for future immigration sponsorship.

Range: $80,000 -$160,000Actual base salary may vary based upon factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. Expected salary: $80000 – 160000 per year
