Brief IT Applications Administrator Overview:
The IT Applications Administrator supports all software needs at the Department, including creating, modifying, troubleshooting, and fixing applications and data reports for both off-the-shelf and internally developed software to assist staff members in the county’s Medical Examiner’s Office and Crime Laboratory. An extensive understanding of business applications, programming languages, database management, and reports is expected, as well as excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Designs, codes, tests, supports, and debugs business applications, databases, and reports based on Department needs and staff requests.
Coordinates with end users to understand and resolve software, database, application, and report problems.
Responsible for analyzing and troubleshooting software problems and providing solutions
Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
Creates technical documentation for reference and reporting.
Verifies and deploys programs and systems following established procedures
Provides hardware user support and deploys hardware as needed, assists with building and information security systems as needed

Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, or related field
Experience:
Three years’ experience in application development, maintenance, and support
Experience in programming languages including HTML5/CSS, ASP, .Net, C#, Python, Perl, and others.
Experience with MS SQL databases and reporting tools.
Experience with enterprise application development using MS Visual Studio 2019 (or later) with .Net framework
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to learn new languages and technologies
Familiar with developing methodologies like Agile and Scrum
Strong written and oral communication skills with effective organization and time management skills
Makes customer service a priority
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritizing and handling multiple tasks simultaneously
Licensure:
Maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
Additional Requirements:
Must pass criminal background check and drug / alcohol screening (prior to and randomly after employment)

Salary:
$85,000.00 – $95,000.00 Annually
Based on Experience
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
