The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons in Islamic Studies while ensuring students engage with the subject in a meaningful way. The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both in English and Arabic, and have a passion for teaching Islamic education to young minds.Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching Islamic Studies: Develop and deliver engaging lessons in Islamic Studies, covering topics such as the Quran, Hadith, Islamic history, and ethics, in line with the school curriculum.
- Language Proficiency: Ensure effective communication in both Arabic and English, fostering a bilingual learning environment.
- Student Development: Encourage critical thinking and provide a nurturing environment that fosters the moral and ethical development of students.
- Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning, discipline, and respect.
- Assessments and Reporting: Prepare and deliver assessments to monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and school leadership.
- Curriculum Planning: Collaborate with colleagues to plan, develop, and review the Islamic Studies curriculum.
- Professional Development: Attend staff meetings, contribute to school events, and continuously pursue professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Ensure the delivery of Islamic Studies content in a manner that is culturally sensitive and inclusive.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Islamic Studies, Arabic, or a related field.
- Language Proficiency:
- Arabic: Fluent in spoken and written Arabic (native-level proficiency).
- English: Must have an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher or equivalent proof of proficiency in English.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience in Islamic Studies or related subjects, ideally within an international school or bilingual setting.
- Knowledge of Curriculum: Familiarity with the UAE Ministry of Education standards for Islamic Studies.
- Certification: Teaching certification or Diploma in Education is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to foster a positive and motivating learning environment.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute lessons effectively.
