Position Summary:
The ERP and Applications Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategy, development, implementation, and support of the organization’s ERP and business-critical applications – with a primary focus on SAP systems. This role ensures that SAP and other enterprise platforms are optimized to support core business processes, improve operational efficiency, and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will play a key role in stakeholder engagement, ensuring that business requirements are accurately translated into scalable and efficient ERP solutions.
This role will have a team of 12 in various roles such as Business Analysts, Functional Analysts, Developers and project coordinators.
Wilson Tool is embarking on an ERP evaluation determining if upgrading SAP or re-platforming is the best course given the current and planned future state of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the SAP subject matter expert (SME) and lead the management, maintenance, and enhancement of SAP ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, ECC, SAP Fiori). Plan, coordinate, and execute ERP system upgrades, including SAP version migrations (e.g., ECC to S/4HANA), enhancement packs, and support packs, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Oversee a multidisciplinary team of 12 professionals, including business analysts, functional analysts, developers, and project coordinators by providing strategic direction, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals across ERP projects. Mentor team members, coordinate cross-functional collaboration, manage resource allocation, and drive the successful delivery of ERP implementations, enhancements, and support activities.
- Demonstrate the ability to align ERP initiatives with organizational goals by creating and executing strategic implementation and optimization plans that drive operational efficiency and business value.
- Effectively lead and coordinate efforts across departments, acting as a bridge between IT, finance, operations, sales, and other business units to ensure seamless integration and adoption of ERP systems.
- Guide the organization through ERP transitions by proactively managing resistance, communicating clearly, and promoting user adoption through training, engagement, and support.
- Build, motivate, and manage high-performing project teams by fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and shared success.
- Make informed, data-driven decisions in complex and high-pressure environments, swiftly resolving issues related to system performance, user requirements, and project timelines.
- Establish trust and maintain strong relationships with executive sponsors, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure project alignment and long-term ERP success.
- Communicate complex technical concepts in clear, non-technical language to diverse audiences, and uses influence to gain buy-in, manage expectations, and drive results.
- Anticipate and mitigate potential risks to timelines, budgets, or system integrity while ensuring optimal allocation of human, financial, and technological resources.
- Lead cross-functional teams during upgrade assessments, testing, cutover planning, and post-upgrade validation.
- Ensure compatibility and integration of upgraded SAP environments with existing business processes and third-party systems.
- Partner with vendors, consultants, and internal teams to establish upgrade roadmaps, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing SAP ERP systems, with a deep understanding of SAP architecture and business process mapping.
- Minimum of 7+ years in a managerial or team leadership role.
- Proven experience with SAP project lifecycles, including implementations, upgrades, and support.
- Experience managing integrations with non-SAP systems and cloud applications.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of SAP modules (especially FI/CO, MM, SD, PP).
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, and SAP Solution Manager.
- Basic understanding of SAP Basis, ABAP, and security concepts.
- Experience with reporting tools like SAP BW, BusinessObjects, or Power BI.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAP certification(s) in functional or technical modules.
- Experience leading a full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementation or migration.
- PMP or other project management certification.
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or regulated industries.

Salary: $130,300 – $162,900 DOQ
