Job description: Job Description :A multinational European company is seeking an experienced Insurance Claims Specialist with a maritime background to join their team in Dubai. In this pivotal role, you will manage and review insurance claims related to marine assets, operations, and incidents. Your deep understanding of maritime operations and insurance practices will ensure accurate, timely, and compliant claims processing across a range of marine risks including machinery, P&I, cargo, and liability.Key Responsibilities
- Review, assess, and process incoming maritime-related insurance claims in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure completeness and compliance of claim documentation with company policies and insurer requirements.
- Coordinate with underwriters, surveyors, and legal advisors.
- Investigate and analyze causes of loss or damage in coordination with technical and operational teams.
- Maintain clear records and reports on claim statuses, settlements, and outstanding recoveries.
- Recommend and implement improvements in claims handling procedures to optimize efficiency and mitigate risk.
- Support internal audits and provide accurate reporting for management and regulatory purposes.
- Liaise with finance and legal departments for settlement approvals and dispute resolution when necessary.
Candidate Profile
- Based in Dubai with valid residency or work permit.
- Bachelor’s degree (HBO level) in Law, Finance, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in insurance claims handling, preferably within the maritime or shipping sector.
- Solid understanding of marine insurance classes (H&M, P&I, cargo, liability).
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal; Arabic or European languages are a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite; experience with insurance management systems is an advantage.
