Position Overview

Let’s get people talking about Yahoo. We’re looking for a connected, passionate, creative, trend-spotting Influencer Lead to develop and manage Yahoo’s talent relationships on social. You will strategize and develop a program that drives culture, increases brand relevancy and awareness, and encourages influencers to talk about Yahoo authentically (yes, authentic love for a tech brand). You’ll lead short term activations to create buzz while creating lasting relationships that build brand fandom over time.

As the Influencer Lead, you will be at the forefront of our influencer marketing initiatives. You’ll be responsible for identifying, building relationships with, and managing influencers who align with Yahoo. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker with a deep understanding of influencer marketing trends, a knack for people, and a passion for maximizing the impact of influencers on brand awareness and engagement.

You’ll be energized by the transformation of the Yahoo brand and culture with a desire to play a pivotal role in driving conversation while shaping a best-in-class work environment. You’ll work with the Social Media lead, PR team, Yahoo for Creators, and Community Managers to amplify daily engagements and identify bigger opportunities to drive conversation and earned media. You will mine the organization across Events & Partnerships, Yahoo Sports, Yahoo Finance, and Mail, News, and Search, for creative opportunities to engage and integrate talent for social.

Key Responsibilities:

Hit the ground running – Develop and execute an out-of-the-gates, buzzworthy influencer marketing strategy that puts Yahoo’s relaunch top-of-mind, instantly enhancing brand visibility and engagement

Position to win – Build insights and gain audience trust and attention to further develop a best-in-class, long-term influencer program and strategy that keeps Yahoo relevant and poised to lead in culture

Know what’s up – Be the center of excellence for industry trends, emerging talent, and current (but fast-changing) influencer marketing best practices

Dream big – Proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate influencer marketing opportunities into broader marketing campaigns to drive scale

Be a people-person – Identify and build relationships with influencers whose audience aligns with our target demographic and brand values

Get the deal done – Negotiate and manage contracts with talent and Legal teams

Stay on top of it – Monitor and optimize influencer campaign performance for maximum impact

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Talent Management, Communications, Social Media, or a related field.

5-7 years experience in talent relations or social media

Proven experience managing and nurturing a team

In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, trends, celebrities and creators, and best practices.

Strong people skills.

Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to review legal agreements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Creative mindset with an ability to think outside the box.

Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate in a team environment.

The compensation for this position ranges from $82,125.00 – $171,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Yahoo has a high degree of flexibility around employee location and hybrid working. In fact, our flexible-hybrid approach to work is one of the things our employees rave about.
