Job description: HR Shared Services is responsible for all employee life cycle transactions and organizational management transactions for Johns Hopkins University, Hospitals, and Health Systems. The department supports 3 pay cycles and over 150,000 transactions annually. We are seeking an HR Shared Services (HRSS) Reporting Team Supervisor responsible for operational oversight of the dedicated resources who focus on data reporting within the HRSS structure. The HRSS Reporting Team Supervisor works in collaboration with the HRSS Manager and other members of HRSS management to support a high performing team that processes manual transactions, responds to HR inquiries, supports data quality reviews, provides employee guidance on self service functions and monitors performance of automated HR processes in SAP.Specific duties & responsibilities:

  • Responsible for directly supervising assigned members of the team, including performance management, goal setting, mentoring, skills development, work assignments and overall resource allocation to ensure that required operational needs are met.
  • Oversees members of the Reporting Team, to ensure effective and efficient business operations.
  • Direct the timely and accurate auding process, both pre and post payroll runs.
  • Ensure that the team performs testing for system updates, changes and modifications.
  • Collaborates with SAP support, Payroll, Benefits Admin and Compensation to implement and revise reports and audits on both a scheduled and as needed (ad hoc) basis.
  • Ensure production of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports and ad hoc reporting to ensure data integrity.
  • Manages the mass load process (post load audits) to support critical business processes, including merit increases, Student FICA exemptions, Bonus/supplemental payments, miscellaneous deductions and salary changes.
  • Oversees the team and ensures accountable and accurate reporting to fulfill data requests for matters including, internal audits, external audits, compliance reporting, and ad hoc requests.
  • Assists with writing and maintaining reports and queries within Query Manager, BW Analysis, Infoset Query and SAP ABAP programming.
  • Support strategic HR initiatives by providing HR reports by using advanced data extraction tools and techniques.
  • Leverage data analytics expertise to identify/understand organizational needs and contribute to the formation and execution of strategy
  • Promote and support HR system enhancements by adjusting HR processes and leading testing.
  • Lead and participate in audits of HR/Payroll data for quality control.
  • Collaborate with IT reporting team in the creation of standardized HR reports for use across Johns Hopkins enterprise.
  • Provide reporting and analytics for HR/Payroll Shared Services Service Level Agreement adherence.
  • Support required Federal and State HR/Payroll reporting as needed.
  • Collaborate with members of the HRSS Reporting team to create and maintain internal documentation for HR/Payroll Shared Services functions associated with HRIS.
  • Ensure customer service standards are routinely followed and establish improvements as needed.
  • Determine work priorities and assignments for the most efficient use of staff and equipment.
  • Serve as an SAP HR subject matter expert to HR Shared Services customer base.
  • Provide feedback to team members promptly to increase their effectiveness.
  • Responsible for hiring, training and supporting new HRSS staff.
  • Provide guidance and policy interpretation to staff as it relates to HR reporting needs.
  • Participate in project meetings for enhancements to SAP HR functionality and other HR systems that integrate with SAP.
  • Create a work environment that maintains confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Information Systems, Business Management, or related field.
  • Three or more years of related HRIS/HR Systems experience required, including experience with Query design and basic ABAP programming or other equivalent experience.
  • Additional experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A master’s degree or additional ERP experience may be substituted for supervisory experience.
  • Two or more years of supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Reporting experience with SAP or other ERP (Oracle, PeopleSoft, etc.) and Programming Experience with SAP ABAP.
  • BI reporting a plus.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Johns Hopkins University’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
