We are looking for an HR Generalist who will be responsible for administering policies relating to all phases of human resources activity, with emphasis on employee relations, benefits administration, and specialized recruiting related to immigration. With a strong customer service orientation and excellent communication skills, the HR Generalist supports employee retention by executing their job duties in a professional yet caring manner, with the highest commitment to ethical and fair behavior.
Essential Responsibilities and Metrics
- Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, retirement plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance as well as compliance with Family and Medical Leave Act(s) and COBRA, leveraging contracted vendors as appropriate.
- Maintains all records related to company benefit plans and compliance with applicable laws.
- Manages Josselyn Annual Open Enrollment for Benefits for employees including analyzing benefits data and working with vendors to provide employees with the right mix of benefits to maintain engaged employees, increase retention and recruitment.
- Advises employees regarding benefit issues, FMLA and ADA process, EAP and other company benefits.
- Keeps records of benefits participation, personnel transactions such as performance reviews and terminations, and employee statistics for reporting.
- Assists with the management of employee relations programs to ensure compliance with policies and practices. May research and respond to colleague questions and concerns. May research federal and state laws to ensure Josselyn policy compliance
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues, including on the crafting of corrective action plans.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Provides guidance and consultative support to international staff and sponsoring departments seeking to engage in the process of work sponsorship through or at Josselyn.
- Manages processes related to visa adjustments, maintaining status, authorized travel, employment questions, transfers, changes of status, travel, and re-entry into the country.
- Serves as a liaison between employee, management, immigration attorney/representative immigration law firm on immigration-related matters.
- Reviews and ensures that immigration sponsorship applications are submitted to immigration attorney in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist with HR related audits as needed

Qualifications
- Bachelors in HR related field
- Generalist Duties: 2 years
- Working knowledge of Employment Law as it pertains Employee Relations, Conflict Resolution (1-2 years)
- Knowledge of Benefits Administration, Immigration Employment Sponsorship and Employee Relations (1-2 years)
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, and Adobe
- Accurate documentation and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Strong written communication skills
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical ability
- Excellent customer service attitude and skills
