Responsible for the efficient operation of assigned areas and the employees that fall under the Housekeeping Department. Provides strict supervision of the employees to include assigning and distributing daily work tasks, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring. Conducts routine inspections of all guest rooms and public areas to ensure the highest quality of Housekeeping is being conducted, to identify potential discrepancies to include maintenance, and ensure rooms are prepared and meet Lodging Facility expectations. Works with the Front Desk, Laundry and Maintenance departments to ensure discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner. Establishes limits, replenishes and maintains supplies, equipment and other janitorial gear. Maintains and updates department records or files for personnel. Creates and updates paperwork for daily assignments. Will develop, oversee and lead the training program for department’s new hires. Ensuring they are properly trained and can perform the level of housekeeping expected by the Lodging Facility Management. Will evaluate employee’s performance and take action as needed to improve quality of work. Promotes team work and quality service amongst employees, peers and supervisor.Provides insight on recommending and completing personnel actions, such as performance reviews. Approves or disapproves leave, prepares and verifies time cards for accuracy. Reviews daily occupancy of Lodging Facility to coordinate with the appropriate staff in order to accurately plan for peak periods and rescheduling of employees to meet workload requirements. Disseminates, organizes and communicates regarding assignments and projects within the housekeeping department. Meets with higher level supervisor to give updates on progress for planned activates or advises them on key issues within the department. Responsible for collecting and cataloging all Lost and Found guest property. Ensures lost and found is turned in to lost and found department.Safeguards all room access keycards by ensuring they are collected and stored. Uses the Property Management System to audit room entries and collect data to maximize the housekeeping service.Inspects all areas of the Lodging Facility buildings for compliance of fire, security and safety regulations and immediately corrects discrepancies. Complies with OSHA standards and takes action to correct unsafe or unhealthy working conditions. Practices and enforces the use of required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishap in accordance with the current policies. Conducts monthly safety trainings to all employees. Guarantees minimal loss of duty by complying with “Return to Work” program initiatives, and follows up with the employees’ well-being.Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Effectively communicates with customers regarding schedules, cleanliness, or any issues with customer rooms. EVALUATIONS:QualificationsA minimum of three years hotel and housekeeping leadership experience preferred with direct knowledge and/or experience in hotel operations which includes: (1) housekeeping/lodging standards, and policies and procedures to maintain a clean, orderly and attractive facility, (2) knowledge and application of budgetary and fiscal management, (3) ability to supervise and to coordinate the work of subordinates, (4) basic computer skills and prior experience with a property management system.
