Job description: We are currently seeking a part-time Support Worker to join our team at headspace Emerald.

Our headspace Support Worker will contribute to strength-based service delivery that focuses on Access services (information & advice) and Support services (one-on-one support and assistance) as part of a case management team. The headspace Support Worker will facilitate the delivery of effective, culturally safe and support to young people, including those with low, moderate, and complex needs under the direction of the clinical team.

What will a typical day look like?

  • Provide proactive, and practical support to assist young people within their journey at headspace Emerald and as part of their support plan.
  • Support young people in maintaining connections with family, culture, country, and community.
  • Work with the headspace Emeald team to delivery group work based on need.
  • Support young people in gaining access to other services such as GP support, telehealth, work and study supports, housing, attending appointments both internal and external as part of their support plans and supporting connection between the young person and the centre.
  • Provide opportunities for young people to develop and learn life skills appropriate to their age and ability.
  • Implement strategies identified in the support plan and participate in Case Review Meetings to ensure young people have clear, relevant, and achievable goals.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Full COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or equivalent or working toward this qualification (proof of enrolment required).
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
  • Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)

Desirable:

  • Experience in a similar role.
