As Head of the Mathematics Department, you will be responsible for setting a clear vision for curriculum development, teaching excellence, and student achievement across all levels. You will serve as a key member of the school’s Middle Leadership Team, shaping academic standards and ensuring consistency in instructional delivery and student outcomes across the mathematics faculty.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Mathematics Department in alignment with the school\’s vision and BSO standards
- Drive improvements in curriculum planning, delivery, and assessment
- Monitor student progress and implement intervention strategies for academic success
- Oversee departmental policies, resources, and budgets effectively
- Support professional development for team members and contribute to school-wide training
- Represent the department in internal leadership discussions and external educational networks
- Actively contribute to the overall performance management and school improvement strategy
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning culture that supports both students and educators
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a PGCE / PGDE or equivalent teaching qualification
- Proven experience in teaching mathematics at a secondary level, including leadership roles
- Strong understanding of British curriculum standards and assessment models
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team, manage change, and innovate within a school environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative and enthusiastic mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
