Lead Fullstack Software Engineer, Angular/.Net/Azure, 7-10 years experience is required for this role. This is a new role for this team and will require experience performing additional duties outside of head down coding like performing code reviews, architectural standards, and mentoring other software engineers.Job Description:
The Lead Software Engineer will play a crucial role in the success of our business, providing technical
leadership and mentorship within the team, while driving continuous improvement efforts in architecture and
engineering practices. The Lead Software Engineer will use deep industry experience with multiple
programming languages and technologies to deliver secure, clean, testable, well-documented, high-
performing, scalable software solutions used by both internal and external customers. The qualified candidate
will possess a continuous learning mindset, be self-motivated, be able to work autonomously, and enjoy
working in a fast-paced environment. This position will require occasional after-hours support.Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, Engineering, and QA teams to understand business processes
and system functionality. Break down complex business requirements to lead detailed technical
analysis, solution design, and work estimation.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other engineering team members. Provide regular, direct, and
impactful feedback in team meetings and engage engineers to help them develop their interpersonal
and technical skills. Participate in interviews and onboarding activities for new team members.
- Provide mid/high level estimates for features or functionality within the application to support
roadmap planning between Product and Engineering.
- Architect innovative, high-quality, well-documented, secure, reusable code, optimized for maximum
speed and scalability.
- Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with unit testing standards.
- Lead code review activities, ensuring code is clean, consistent, well-documented, unit-tested, and
follows architecture and coding standards.
- Solve problems both individually and through close collaboration within the engineering team.
- Provide level two/three production support for assigned technology systems.
- Maintain and curate up-to-date solution documentation in the technology knowledge repository.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in application development;
apply strategic and design thinking to contribute to architectural decisions.
- Participate in the Agile development process by contributing to daily standups, release planning,
demos, and retrospectives.
- Coordinate development efforts of the team, aligning them with project goals and timelines.
- Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- 7-10 years of full stack application development experience.
- Strong objective programming foundations.
- Strong skills writing unit testing.
- Expert troubleshooting and debugging practices and techniques.
- Backend Skills: C#, ASP.NET Core, RESTful APIs, Entity Framework Core, MS-SQL.
- Frontend Skills: Angular, Redux, TypeScript, RTK Query, JEST unit testing, HTML, CSS.
- Developer Tools: Bitbucket (Git), JIRA, Azure DevOps, Postman, Swagger, etc.
- Knowledge of the Agile software development life cycle and concepts of software engineering.
- Experience with modular monolith and microservices architectures.
Pluses:
- Experience with Test Driven Development practices.
- Familiarity with DevOps best practices and automation of testing, build, and deployment.
- Experience using system monitoring tools (e.g. New Relic, Azure Application Insights).
- Azure PaaS experience.
Expected salary: $140000 – 150000 per year
