Job description: Your Role:
- Champion a child safe culture that upholds the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. - Undertake psychological evaluation, assessment and diagnosis of a range of child and adolescent behavioural, emotional, cognitive and social problems using recognised assessment techniques in the context of clients involved with the youth justice system.
- Provide psychological treatment, including the design, development, implementation and evaluation of specialised treatment programs.
- Provide consultation and training to workers within youth justice on issues pertaining to the early identification and intervention in mental health issues for their clients.
- Work within the multi-disciplinary programs and case management team and participate in case plan reviews to ensure continuity of care.
- Assist with and participate in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement, risk management, ethical research activities and other strategies consistent with best practice in a custodial environment.
- Provide consultation to Mental Health Service professionals regarding psychological assessment and management of youth justice clients.

Details of Appointment
Permanent full time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $106,966 – $118,114 per annum + 11% superannuation + 6.5% correctional allowance.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- This position attracts a 6.5% Correctional Health Allowance
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
- Relocation assistance for the right applicant
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $111,964 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria: * Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia
- Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Current Working with Children Registration
