About the Role
Are you ready to take the helm of financial systems and accounting processes in a dynamic environment? The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking a skilled Financial Systems Officer to play a pivotal role in enhancing our operational efficiency and strategic objectives.
As our Financial Systems Officer, you will provide front-line technical systems, training and administration support, conducting regular health checks and security audits of the Financial Management System (FMS). You’ll ensure the accurate and timely transfer of journal interfaces between subsystems and FMS, providing essential assistance with FMS security access and controls. Your role extends to offering first-level functional support to end users and maintaining the non-production environment user access register.
Collaborating with third-party providers, you’ll address functional issues with FMS and actively participate in projects focused on enhancement, system upgrades, and customisation. Additionally, you’ll take charge of creating, modifying, testing, and managing Business Objects reports, while also executing period-end processing, including daily, monthly, and year-end procedures. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the chart of accounts and hierarchical relationships within the General Ledger, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our financial systems.
About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business, Commerce, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in using large and complex Enterprise Resource Planning systems in a commercial accrual-based environment.
- Proficiency in system administration, particularly with Ellipse or equivalent financial management systems.
- Strong background in project management and end-user support.
- A good understanding of reporting tools, Microsoft Excel, Word, and financial accounting requirements.
