About the role
The Field Coordinator – Family Day Care is responsible for overseeing the delivery of care and education within the Family Day Care educators’ residences, adhering to the relevant Regulations and Acts.

The Field Coordinator’s role is to promote and maintain a high quality, home-based childcare service that is safe, flexible, and responsive to the needs of clients and stakeholders and adheres to Council and funding body guidelines.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Visit educators on a regular basis and provide support, guidance and advice on matters related to the care and education of children
  • Accurately record details of home visits
  • Resource educators through a broad range of strategies including in-service training, after hours professional development sessions, discussion, mentoring and provision of materials and resources
  • Promote Family Day Care as a responsive flexible licensed childcare service
  • Organise and conduct playgroups for the educators and children to come together and engage in a larger group setting.
  • Deliver equipment to educators and demonstrate how this is used.

About you
You are a proactive and efficient individual with an approachable nature, exceptional interpersonal skills and attention to detail. You possess strong customer service skills with highly developed written and oral communication skills.

The following is also required:

  • Diploma in Children’s Services and/or experience as a Family Day Care Field Coordinator
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of the theories and practice of child development, play based program and curriculum planning and interactions with children.
  • First Aid qualification (HLTAID011 or HLTAID012 or equivalent)
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011, Education and Care Services National Law 2010 and the National Quality Framework
  • CPR certificate
  • Must maintain a current Employee Working with Children Check
