Job description: Family and Community Engagement LiaisonFull-Time, Exempt, Year-RoundReports to: Coordinator of Family & Community EngagementPosition Summary:The Family and Community Engagement Liaison bridges the gap between schools, families, and the community to foster meaningful partnerships that support student success. Reporting to the Coordinator of Family & Community Engagement, this role builds trust, facilitates clear communication, and ensures families have access to resources and opportunities to actively support their children’s education. The Liaison advocates for family needs, strengthens relationships, and promotes inclusivity through engagement, collaboration, and community outreach.Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Design, plan, and execute family engagement opportunities, workshops, and events that strengthen connections between the school, community, and organizational goals.
  • Provide families with multilingual resources (English and Spanish) to ensure inclusivity and support student learning.
  • Host regular opportunities for families to build relationships, gather feedback, and participate in school activities (e.g., Coffee and Conversation, volunteer recognition events).
  • Facilitate parent involvement in advisory councils and committee meetings.
  • Recognize and celebrate parent contributions through volunteer recognition opportunities or events and tracking volunteer hours.
  • Collaborate with local community organizations, businesses, and partners to provide resources and services to our families such as healthcare, housing, food assistance, and after-school programs.
  • Represent Grow at community network meetings, collaboratives, and events to build relationships and participate regularly in community-based activities.
  • Educate community leaders, advocates, and elected officials about Grow network and schools through relationship building, school visits, community events, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Community Schools Advisory Council to align family engagement efforts with Community Schools priorities.
  • Advocate for family needs, particularly those of foster/homeless youth, ELLs, and students with disabilities.
  • Lead and conduct outreach to Grow Academy families and the community to promote advocacy, parent engagement, and school-related opportunities.
  • Act as a liaison between families, school staff, and leadership teams to ensure clear communication, address concerns, and proactively share important information.
  • Provide translation and interpretation services as needed, maintain regular contact with families, and collaborate with them on school-related tasks, projects, and events.
  • Use platforms like ParentSquare and social media to share updates, events, and collect feedback in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications.
  • Coordinate logistics for engagement events (tech., materials, food, supports).
  • Track, monitor, and report family engagement metrics, using feedback to continuously improve programs and initiatives.
  • Manage and monitor Family and Community Engagement budget in collaboration with FACE Coordinator.
  • Other related duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Fluent in English and Spanish, with strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to interpret effectively.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of local resources and services available to families, with experience organizing families and/or community partners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Proven ability to manage events, organize effectively, and handle multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • Familiarity with small, rural schools is strongly preferred.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed to accommodate families.
  • Reliable transportation required.

Grow Public Schools offers competitive compensation based on background and experience

Expected salary: $68640 – 72732 per year
