Job description: Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety SpecialistJob DescriptionAs an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist, you will ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety policies at solar construction and operational sites. You will develop, implement, and supervise site-specific Health and Safety Plans, conduct routine safety audits, and promote a proactive safety culture.Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, internal safety policies, and environmental standards.
- Develop and implement site-specific Health and Safety Plans.
- Conduct routine safety audits, risk assessments, and SWPPP inspections.
- Collaborate with site teams and subcontractors to develop mitigation plans.
- Conduct safety training and orientations for corporate employees and site personnel.
- Maintain safety records, review safety submittals, and track EHS performance metrics.
- Generate detailed safety performance and regulatory compliance reports for management.
- Promote proactive safety culture and inspire open communication.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or equivalent experience.
- OSHA 30-hour Construction certification.
- 2-3 years of direct experience in environmental health and safety.
- Experience in conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Strong understanding of OSHA General Industry and Construction standards.
- Experience in managing high-risk activities such as electrical safety and crane operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in solar construction or electrical safety.
- Hands-on experience with high-risk activities such as crane lift operations and stormwater management.
- Safety certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP) are highly desirable.
- Ability to travel to multiple project sites as needed.
- Strong problem-solving and team-building skills.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 – $50.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
