On-site in South San Francisco – Monday to Friday

What this job involves – The Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager reports to the EHS Director and facilitates the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of JLL EHS management system programs related to JLL scope of work at the Client location. The EHS Manager leads the site EHS team, provides oversight, serves as liaison to client EHS stakeholders and ensures compliance with JLL and client EHS programs. The EHS manager advises the EHS Director and JLL operations management teams on EHS issues, evaluates potential hazardous situations and environmental impacts, performs accident investigations, and ensures JLL is compliant with JLL EHS and Client EHS requirements.

What is the day to day?

  • Provide leadership and support in the development and implementation of EHS management system and compliance programs by the site EHS team.
  • Implements strategies to meet or exceed key performance indicators and proactively manage risk, and foster a strong safety culture.
  • Partner with JLL operations managers to meet EHS performance goals and monitor performance.
  • Track and report EHS performance metrics and measure performance against key performance indicators.
  • Provide EHS oversight for JLL service partners working at Client locations under the JLL scope of work.
  • Liaison with client EHS organizations to ensure that EHS concerns are identified, solutions coordinated and implemented, and a collaborative partnership with the Client EHS organization is maintained through trust, actions and results.
  • Deliver exceptional quality of service to the client, as reflected by client feedback.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate training sessions for EHS required training.
  • Implement record management and retention systems to ensure required records are maintained and available in accordance with regulatory and JLL requirements.
  • Assist the JLL site team in accident investigation and communication processes, including the identification of root causes and sharing lessons learned.
  • Develop and implement training and tools necessary to ensure EHS incident reporting and EHS performance are submitted on a timely basis, and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Proactively evaluate hazards at client site for safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Provide project management support for account EHS projects related to areas of expertise and responsibility.

  • Internal- Operations and Project Managers, GMP and Quality Operations Managers, Facility Management, Account EHS Director, Site Teams, Chief Engineers, Engineers and Technicians

Desired skills and experience –

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, or equivalent training and experience
  • 5+ years experience working with EHS compliance and management systems
  • 2+ years experience leading, managing and developing EHS teams
  • Broad based knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety systems, standards and regulations
  • Demonstrated success working with clients, subcontractors and vendors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer and technology skills

Preferred

  • Master’s degree or professional certification, ASP or CSP
  • EHS experience with GxP, pharmaceutical, research or facilities maintenance operations
  • Experience with CMMS, incident reporting and KPI tracking and reporting systems

Job Requirements –

  • Physical ability to inspect both outdoor and indoor facilities areas in manufacturing and research environments
  • Current Driver’s License and the ability to operate motor vehicles
  • Participation in Medical Clearance and Medical Surveillance programs
  • Security Background Check and Clearance
  • Pre-employment health screening and Drug Testing

Estimated compensation for this position is:

110,000.00 – 140,000.00 USD per year

The pay range listed is a total compensation range including bonus, if applicable. The provided range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
