Job description: Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking for passionate and dynamic Health and Safety professionals who pride themselves on their ability to deliver extraordinary levels of customer service and direct a team that remains in compliance with top quality food and beverage products through prompt, accurate and personalized service.As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct daily inspections based on food safety Standards in kitchens, outlets and relevant areas such as stores, receiving, engineering, garbage room
  • Conduct a daily workplace and guest areas inspections based on the Environment, Health & Safety standards in all departments
  • Follow up on the corrective actions implementation with other departments
  • Conduct training for all employees on EHS and food safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate EHS meetings and prepare the respective minutes
  • Conduct induction training for contractors and colleagues related to EHS and food safety system.
  • Conduct contractor’s inspection when working inside the premises.
  • Assist other departments on completing their departmental risk assessments, their incidents investigation and corrective actions completion
  • Schedule and join the Environmental Health and Safety Manager during audits conducted for suppliers and contractors
  • Review and maintain all records related to EHSMS & food safety on a monthly basis.
  • Participate in various types of EHS/HACCP/ ISO/Sustainability/OHSMS compliance and/ or management system audits.
  • Collaborate with various departments to implement corporate social responsibility activities aimed at contributing positively to the community and environment.
  • Oversee the implementation and monitoring of Rotana Earth programs within the hotel
  • Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly way to protect guests’ and employees’ health and safety, as well as protect and conserve the environment
  • Comply with the hotel environmental, health and safety policies and procedures

Occupational Health and Safety responsibilities will include:

  • Develop OHSMS manuals, policies and procedures and review periodically or less if required.
  • Lead the implementation of OHS System and monitor the system through inspections, meetings e.g., OHS meetings, Management review… with the Head of departments as well as the operational colleagues.
  • Retain active involvement in periodic reviews and assisting in setting EHS objectives and targets.
  • Ensure that new employees receive all OHS trainings related to their specific tasks.

Report to senior management and sector regulatory authority on the OHSMS performance. * Ensure the Legal requirements are updated, communicated, and implemented throughout the property.

  • Establish and plan audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OHS regulations. Oversee and communicate all audit results. Establish action plans to ensure the hotel compliance with OHS regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct and regularly review the risk assessment for all areas in the hotel in coordination with the concerned departments and implement specific control measures.

SkillsEducation, Qualifications & ExperiencesYou must be a college / university degree graduate preferably in Health / Hygiene / Quality management with a minimum of one year experience in a similar role with preferable previous experience in the Middle East. You should be a computer literate with effective communication skills in both verbal and written English and Arabic will be an advantage.Knowledge & CompetenciesThe ideal candidate will be customer driven and an extremely proactive and ‘switched on’ personality with an outgoing, charismatic and approachable character. Expected salary: 5555 – 7407 per month
