Here is the mission and vision for the team:● Mission: To promote a culture of safety and compliance, minimizing risks and ensuring the health and safety of all stakeholders involved in vehicle operations worldwide.● Vision: To be a leader in operational safety, setting benchmarks for excellence in safety practices and compliance in the industry.WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?The Woven by Toyota EHS manager US/UK is responsible for providing support and leadership for the design, implementation, and maintenance of EHS systems, programs, and initiatives. The EHS manager will play a key role in establishing a positive safety culture and ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements.The position may be based in Palo Alto, California or Ann Arbor, Michigan, and reports directly to the Global Head of Operational Safety of the company.RESPONSIBILITIES● Program Leadership and Coordination:○ Lead EHS programs, identifying and addressing risks in garages, labs, and lifts across US/UK sites.○ Collaborate with HR, Legal, and the Line of Businesses (LoBs) to align EHS initiatives with broader business objectives.○ Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and training programs for specific locations.● Incident Management and Reporting:○ Report and investigate incidents, and manage Workers Compensation and OSHA issues.○ Lead ISO 14001 certification programs, conduct audits, and address findings.○ Develop audit plans, conduct internal audits, and drive closure of corrective actions.○ Conduct routine EHS inspections, and resolve EHS related issues in Jira.○ Utilize commercial EHS software (e.g., EHS Insight, Onsolve, IFS) as a technology solution to protect the health and safety of our people.○ Provide regular reports on EHS compliance activities, risks, and progress toward goals.● Team Leadership and Collaboration:○ Collaborate on workplace violence policies, IIPP, CMP, BCP, and other guidelines for US/UK.○ Conduct occasional travel for EHS regulatory compliance audits and evaluations.○ Manage and coordinate internal and external audits, management review meetings, and projects.● Safety Program Evaluation and Development:○ Evaluate the current safety program using established goals and recommend corrective actions based on industry standards and best practices.○ Ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements, including necessary reporting and creating/maintaining a KPI dashboard.○ Address and resolve safety concerns, establishing and sustaining Lean and OpEx (5S, Kaizen) programs and culture.○ Develop and implement job hazard analysis (JHAs) and applicable EHS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).○ Review and maintain the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) library.● Training and Emergency Response:○ Develop and manage an effective training program for all employees.○ Coordinate and deploy EHS training programs, including High Voltage (HV) training, fire extinguisher training, ergonomics, EHS orientation, chemical safety, hazard identification and risk assessment.○ Serve as a point of contact for all emergencies, accidents, and injuries.○ Lead the site safety committee and investigate accidents to determine root causes and provide recommendations to eliminate or reduce future hazards or risks.● Regulatory Compliance and Recordkeeping:○ Manage the development and management of special programs such as hazardous and medical waste management.○ Conduct regular audit inspections, draft reports to document inspection findings, and drive closure.○ Ensure material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.○ Maintain records of discharges or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, ensuring all County, State, and Federal permits are regularly updated and stored.○ Provide assistance with the development and update of Woven by Toyota’s Hazardous Materials Business Plan (HMBP) via the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS).MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS● B.S. degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Emergency Preparedness, Business Continuity in the transportation sector or adjacent fields.● 8+ years of experience in relevant industry with expertise in EHS regulations.● 4+ years experience in EHS role in R&D or manufacturing environment.● Prior experience completing incident investigations and risk assessments● Proficient knowledge of hazards related to garages, labs, and lifts.● Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.● On-call availability 24/7 for US/UK.● Experience working closely with diverse cross-functional teams.NICE TO HAVES● Certification in safety or compliance management (e.g., CSP, ASP, CEM, CEIM) is a plus.● Experience in supporting vehicle operations and familiarity with operational challenges and requirements..● Experience in understanding transportation safety data, extracting insights from data, and establishing performance metrics.Familiarity with Functional Safety, Safety Management System, Safety Cases, and safety data analysis. \n\nFor California: The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000- $195,500 a yearYour base salary is one part of your total compensation. We offer a base salary, short term and long term incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package.
