Job description: Job Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and passionate K-5 Intervention Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting students who need additional assistance to succeed academically. This role involves providing targeted interventions to students in literacy, math, and other subject areas, both in small group and one-on-one settings. The successful candidate will be skilled in assessing student needs and designing personalized learning plans to help students achieve their full potential. We are also looking for someone who is experienced in or open to learning and incorporating new educational technologies into their interventions to enhance student engagement and success.Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted intervention services to K-5 students who are struggling in areas such as literacy, math, and other core subjects.
- Assess student performance regularly to identify academic gaps, monitor progress, and inform intervention strategies.
- Develop and implement individualized or small-group intervention plans based on students’ specific needs and goals.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and other support staff to ensure interventions are aligned with classroom instruction and meet students’ needs.
- Utilize evidence-based strategies and instructional methods to help students improve academic skills and build confidence.
- Use data to drive instruction, making adjustments to intervention plans as needed to ensure students are progressing.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment where students feel confident to take risks and make academic progress.
- Incorporate technology tools, such as educational apps, interactive resources, and online platforms, to reinforce and enhance intervention lessons.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress, discuss strategies for home support, and address any concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, intervention plans, and communication with families.
- Participate in team meetings to collaborate with colleagues and share insights, resources, and strategies for student success.
- Stay current with best practices in intervention strategies and educational technology, and engage in professional development to continuously improve teaching skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification for Elementary Education (K-5).
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in providing academic interventions (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of K-5 curriculum and effective intervention strategies for struggling learners.
- Experience with or openness to integrating technology into intervention lessons (e.g., digital learning platforms, educational apps, and online resources).
- Ability to assess student progress, adapt teaching strategies, and implement interventions to meet diverse student needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and students.
- Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to supporting all students in their academic growth.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with educational technology tools and platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Seesaw, Kahoot, or other digital resources for intervention).
- Experience using digital assessments or learning management systems to track student progress.
- Willingness to explore new technologies and tools to enhance the learning experience for students and improve outcomes.
- Knowledge of Response to Intervention (RTI) models and data-driven instructional practices.
Expected salary: $40000 – 45000 per year
