Job description: Elementary/Grammar Level Teachers will work closely with the Head of Education to provide an
excellent classical and Christian education founded upon a biblical worldview that equipsstudents to live purposefully and intelligently in service to God and others. All BRAVEAcademy faculty are employed by BRAVE Church. Therefore, regular attendance atBRAVE Church is required.
DescriptionSupervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:Integrates biblical truth across all subjects and disciplinesDemonstrates consistent application and implementation of classical pedagogy within theclassroom, including poetry, chants, jingles, and songCollaborates through weekly faculty meetings and seeks assistance and direction from theDean of Grammar or Head of Education as neededUnderstands grade level course scope and sequence and materials, including curricularpacing and implementationEstablishes and maintains a well-organized and beautiful classical classroom that followsprovided guidelinesCollaborates with other faculty ensuring alignment and consistency in pacing, grading,behavior systems, projects, and special events within the grade levelProactively initiates regular communication with each family that emphasizes relationshipbuildingInforms and educates parents in the classical Christian education model as opportunitiesariseMaintains an open line of communication between parents and colleagues; when concernsarise with members of the community, they are handled scripturally by going directly tothe individuals involvedCultivates relationships with students, modeling and assisting them through thepeacemaking process as neededTrains students in character, manners and respect, organization, and management and care ofpropertyEstablishes manageable classroom routines to accomplish basic tasks, such as takingattendance, homework collection, daily cleaning schedules, materials storage, anddistribution, etc.Fully embraces, trains, implements, and always enforces the publishedbehavioral expectations inside and outside of the classroomCollaborates with the Dean of Grammar or Head of Education when handlingstudent struggles and concerns regarding disciplineConsults with Dean of Grammar regarding struggling students; brainstorms possibleclassroom interventions, implements recommended next steps for progress, and followspublished guidelines
Academic Support Policy:Works with Head of School to ensure proper documentation of student and parentconcernsGuides and effectively utilizes school information system (SIS) to enhance instructionUtilizes BRAVE Academy SIS gradebooks and maintains up-to-date course homepages as acommunication direct link to familiesEmploys a variety of techniques, in addition to formal evaluation, to measure a studentʼsprogressEnsures that report cards are an accurate reflection of teacher’s professionalism byaccurately communicating a student’s performance, ability, and characterCreates weekly lesson plans that synchronize with the course scope and sequence andobjectives provided by the Academy; plans must be accessible to the administration at anytime through BRAVE Academy SISCommits to systematically completing all assigned subject material for their grade levelProvides detailed substitute plans when neededFollows all published Academy policies found in the Employee Handbook andParent/Student Handbook
Additional Duties:Completes additional assigned duties, including but not limited to lunch, recess, carline,and homeroom supervisionParticipates in faculty morning prayer and devotionsAttends required faculty meetings and in-service trainingContributes to all-school evening events such as Back-to-School Night, Recitation Night,and Parent-Teacher ConferencesWorks closely with the Dean of Grammar on professional development planOther related duties as assigned by the Head of School or other member of executiveleadership

Expected salary: $60000 per year
