  • Develop, implement, and manage health & safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHAs) to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Implement and oversee Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs to drive proactive safety engagement.
  • Conduct safety training for employees, supervisors, and leadership on key topics such as LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), machine guarding, confined space entry, and PPE requirements.
  • Manage site safety committees, audits, and inspections, ensuring action items are completed.
  • Track and report key safety metrics (TRIR, DART, near-miss reporting, etc.) while driving continuous improvement.
  • Ensure proper handling of workers’ compensation claims and coordinate with HR on return-to-work programs.
  • Ensure compliance with EPA, state, and local environmental regulations related to air emissions, wastewater, hazardous waste, and stormwater.
  • Maintain environmental permits, records, and regulatory reporting (e.g., Tier II, TRI, SPCC, SWPPP, RCRA).
  • Conduct environmental audits, inspections, and corrective action plans to maintain compliance.
  • Oversee hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal programs.
  • Implement sustainability initiatives to reduce energy consumption, waste generation, and environmental impact.
  • Provide training on spill response, waste handling, and emergency preparedness

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910, EPA regulations, and state/local environmental laws.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).
  • Certification preferred: CSP, CIH, CHMM, or OSHA 30/General Industry.
  • Proficiency in EHS management systems, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and training skills to engage employees at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across two locations while prioritizing critical tasks.

We are partnered up with a Medium Sized Manufacturing Company in their search for an EHS Manager to cover two sites locally. This position will report into the Plant Manager, will work with the Corporate EHS team, and manage a team of 3 employees. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience within a manufacturing setting, union experience, and the ability / personality to implement change successfully within a safety culture.
