- Implement the IB PYP curriculum for early childhood learners, fostering an inquiry-based, play-centered learning environment.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that are developmentally appropriate and inspire curiosity, exploration, and independent thinking.
- Establish a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional, social, and academic growth for young learners.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the unique needs of each child, ensuring all learners are challenged and supported.
- Assess children’s progress through observation and play-based assessments, providing constructive feedback to parents and the school leadership.
- Promote social-emotional development, encouraging positive peer interactions, self-regulation, and the building of empathy and collaboration skills.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to create interdisciplinary units of inquiry that support holistic development.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on students’ progress and ways to support their development at home.
- Maintain an inspiring and well-organized classroom environment, utilizing both indoor and outdoor spaces for creative play and exploration.
- Participate in professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay updated with the latest trends in early childhood education and the IB PYP framework.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (B.Ed. preferred).
- A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in an early childhood setting, ideally within an IB PYP environment.
- A deep understanding of inquiry-based learning and child-centered teaching methods.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the growth of the whole child.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Passionate about working with young children and dedicated to fostering their curiosity, creativity, and academic development.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working with diverse learners and adapting teaching methods accordingly.
- Knowledge of early childhood developmental milestones and best practices for supporting young children’s growth.
- Familiarity with technology integration in early childhood classrooms.
- A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented mindset, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues effectively.
