Job description: Core Responsibilities STRATEGIC: ▪ Adhere to ethical principles and maintain neutrality and impartiality throughout the appeals process. ▪ Analyze appeals trends and compile statistical data on the types of complaints and their resolutions to identify potential areas for improvement. ▪ Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the appeals process and recommend changes to the Executive Director – Committees Management. OPERATIONAL: ▪ Receive and manage appeals that have been escalated to the Appeals Committee from either the consumers or the Licensed Financial Institutions. ▪ Obtain the papers, documents, records, and all pertinent evidence related to the appeal. ▪ Review appeal documentation and ensure that all necessary information and supporting materials are complete and accurate. ▪ Attend the Appeals Committee meetings and participate in the discussions. ▪ Support the Appeals Committee in conducting the functions of the Committee. ▪ Collaborate with the Complaints Management Department, Executive Director – Committees management, and respondents to gather additional information, documents, and evidence relevant to appeal cases. ▪ Maintain records of all information and documents related to each appeal. ▪ Serve as a primary point of contact for complainants, respondents, and other relevant parties during the appeal process. ▪ Communicate with the relevant stakeholders to provide updates on the status of appeal cases and facilitate the exchange of relevant information. ▪ Prepare regular reports for the Executive Director – Committees Management and other stakeholders as required. People Management Responsibilities: ▪ Provide leadership and direction to direct reports towards the achievement of KPIs. 2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Threshold Qualifications ▪ Bachelor’s degree in the field of law. ▪ Master’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or related field is preferred. ▪ Professional affiliations / certifications with a recognized institute. ▪ Proficient in the English Language. Proficiency of the Arabic language is preferred. Years & Nature of Experience ▪ 10-12 years of experience of working in a similar role. ▪ Extensive experience of Licensed Financial Institutions, with in-depth knowledge of various financial products, services, regulations and industry good practices. ▪ Strong legal background and understanding. ▪ 2+ years working experience in the UAE, with appropriate familiarity with the UAE market and regulations. ▪ Strong analytical skills to assess complex complaints and propose appropriate determinations. ▪ Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute valuable insights to the Appeals Committee. ▪ Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple appeal cases simultaneously. ▪ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with various stakeholders. ▪ Attention to detail and analytical abilities to review and assess relevant documentation. Self-Management Responsibilities ▪ Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the course of the year ▪ Identifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with the reporting manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended ▪ Strives to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all the competencies and skills required to perform the role. ▪ Keeps abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth.
Expected salary: 56000 – 65000 per year
