Join our team as a developer analyst where you will examine and document business and technical requirements to support new and modified system development, integration, operation and retirement. You will ensure our systems remain compatible with our technical architecture and portfolio across multiple divisions. A day in the life:

Develop or modify software code that implements business processes as required in system documents.

Analyze business needs and capture, change or redesign business processes and document or update system requirements and software specifications.

Analyze the impact of changing the configuration on IT systems and/or interfaces, recommend appropriate solutions and coordinate those changes.

Contact vendors regarding application-related issues and resolve or escalate problems as needed.

Diagnose and resolve moderate to complex user/application problems and system crashes.

Identify alternative technical solutions and develop appropriate plans to assess each alternative.

Test new or updated application functionality and software patches.

Meet with customers to understand, evaluate, document and communicate customer’s business/application automation needs and requirements.

Support ODOT business applications and administer production job scheduling, file transfers and workload management across multiple platforms and environments.

Perform logical data modeling and develop data definitions per established standards and best practices.

Minimum qualifications:

Five (5) years of information systems experience in software application development.

OR
An associate’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND three (3) years of information systems experience in software application development.

OR
A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field AND one (1) year of information systems experience in software application development.

Proficient with Microsoft Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, ASP.NET Core, C#, web applications, SQL/Microsoft SQL Server, git/Team Foundation Version Control, experience working in Azure DevOps.

Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements to modify existing and implement new systems functionality.

Business process analysis and system analysis skills.

Experience writing new or modifying existing software programs.

Demonstrated ability to deliver complete software code work products, including documentation that explains, in detail, what the product is, and how and why it works.

Expertise in developing test plans including unit and system test cases, as well as use acceptance test plans.
