Ventia are seeking applications for a Cost Accountant to join us on our BHP / Pilbara contract.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in our East Perth office. This role will see you primarily support to the Contract Specialist/Commercial Manager

and working closely with the Finance Team and Pilbara – Project Operations Team to provide effective analysis and reporting to multiple stakeholders both internally and externally.

Duties include but are not limited to

  • Analysing financial data and monitoring the financial performance of assigned contracts
  • Manage financial close-out activities and project accounts at month-end
  • Developing, implementing and supporting budgets and forecasts
  • Leading and steering the operations team with informed financial decisions with the view of achieving the contracts strategic objectives
  • Ensuring full compliance with regulations, conducting internal financial audits and make necessary adjustments
  • Championing processes that provide cost saving and revenue generation for the business
  • Contribute to year-end processes, statutory accounts, audit and consolidation of accounts
  • Managing Timesheets / Time keeping processes and all data transfers to client systems
  • Remaining current on industry trends, changes in regulations and best practices
  • Building rapport and maintaining solid relationships with Ventias esteemed clients

About You

  • Experience of minimum 4 years in a cost accounting role required
  • Degree qualification in Business / Commerce / Accounting as a minimum
  • Previous experience in the mining industry and experience dealing with Tier 1 clients
  • Exceptional knowledge of SAP systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel + skilled use of the Microsoft Suite (essential)
  • Willingness to guide and increase performance within a team
  • Ability to meet competing deadlines
  • Champion of agile ways of working
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders
