Job description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accountant to join our team at a construction company based in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, particularly in cost analysis and management. As a Cost Accountant, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and controlling costs to ensure efficient project execution and profitability.
Responsibilities:
Analyze project costs, including materials, labor, and overhead expenses, to ensure accuracy and identify areas for cost optimizationPrepare and maintain cost reports, budgets, and forecasts for ongoing projectsMonitor project budgets and expenditures, comparing actual costs to estimates and identifying variancesCollaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to assess project profitability and make recommendations for cost-saving measuresConduct regular audits of project expenses to ensure compliance with company policies and proceduresAssist in the development and implementation of cost accounting policies and proceduresProvide financial analysis and support for decision-making processes related to project planning and resource allocationStay informed about industry trends and best practices in cost accounting and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field3 to 4 years of experience as a Cost Accountant, preferably in the construction industryProficiency in accounting software and Microsoft ExcelStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentAttention to detail and accuracy in financial reportingKnowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to cost accounting
Expected salary: 6000 per month
