City of Moreton Bay’s community engagement is delivered by an innovative team of professionals. We are passionate about shaping the future of our city with input from our communities. Community Engagement sits within City of Moreton Bay’s Corporate Services Directorate. Working as skilled advisors across the organisation, our award-winning team uses best practice engagement to inform long-term strategic planning and day-to-day service delivery. The projects we support range in scope and scale, for example, corporate and strategic planning, parks and recreation planning and delivery, long-term infrastructure planning and delivery, strategic town planning, local laws reviews, place naming, natural hazard management and many more interesting areas of Council.

About the opportunity

As a Community Engagement Specialist, you will work closely with senior members of our team to carefully plan engagement programs that enable meaningful conversations with our communities about Council’s projects and services. You will also analyse information gathered from our communities to capture and report insights that can be shared with Council’s decision-makers and other key stakeholders.

About you

You are an experienced engagement practitioner with outstanding communication skills who is passionate about collecting and using data to understand community views and influence change. Your background may include roles in community engagement, corporate communications, social impact assessment, social research or similar.

Your ability to understand community issues and Council projects, programs, and initiatives is enhanced by your empathy and critical thinking. Your exceptional written and verbal communication skills enable you to forge strong working relationships inside and outside the organisation, and to produce high quality briefing notes, reports, website content and project collateral.

Your positive outlook, willingness to take on a challenge and ability to manage competing deadlines will make you a valuable member of our dynamic team that is always looking to learn more and improve our practice.
