What you’ll be doing
The ED Clinical Manager is responsible for coordinating service delivery & patient flow through the Emergency Department on a day to day basis. This involves careful communication & coordination of the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient assessment & treatment is conducted in a timely & efficient manner. Liaison with the Bed Managers/Patient Flow Manager is essential to ensure that admitted patients are moved to inpatient beds as soon as possible.
The Clinical Manager is an expert resource for other nursing staff within the ED, providing supervision, support & guidance to nursing staff in relation to clinical care & the patient journey through the emergency department.
The Clinical Manager is responsible for identifying of the need for the activation of escalation procedures which includes, notifying management when the demand exceeds capacity.
In addition, the Clinical Managers as a team will be responsible for overseeing specific management portfolios within the ED contributing to the professional development of themselves & others as well as ensuring ongoing monitoring/ enhancement of Department Services, & provided support as needed to the ED NUM.

SELECTION CRITERIA: * Current registration with AHPRA as a Division 1 Registered Nurse.
- Recent clinical experience in Emergency Nursing.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications or working towards same and/or relevant experience in a senior leadership role in the emergency setting.
- Demonstrated excellent organisational, time management & decision making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, & as part of a multidisciplinary team & supervise & coordinate the work of other staff.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills & interpersonal skills & the ability to motivate staff.
- Computer literacy including a sound working knowledge of eMR.
- Commitment to education & professional development of self & others & demonstrated commitment to quality improvement.
