What you’ll be doing:
A rare and exciting opportunity is now available to join the Cancer Services Team as Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 for Palliative and Supportive Care in either a Permanent Full time or Part time position.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is responsible for co-ordinating a seamless journey for patients and carers within the Supportive and Palliative Care service across the care continuum and throughout NBMLHD. The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 is a Registered Nurse who applies a high level of clinical nursing knowledge, experience and skills in providing complex nursing care in Supportive and Palliative Care, with minimum direct supervision.
This imperative position will focus on co-ordinating care for Supportive and Palliative Care patients who often require complex care management, liaison and care planning from a multidisciplinary perspective. This will occur throughout their life limiting illness where Supportive and Palliative Care is involved and across all care settings including community, inpatient and outpatient.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed: * Current registration with AHPRA – Division 1 Registered Nurse
- Post-registration qualifications in Palliative Care
- At least 3 years full time equivalent experience in Palliative Care nursing
- Demonstrated ability to lead a multidisciplinary team to improve patient and family/carer outcomes
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making abilities according to best practice
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, family/carers and a diverse range of health care providers
- Demonstrated commitment to clinical practice development
- Ability to work independently and within a team, with minimal supervision maintaining involvement within the wider multidisciplinary team
