Job description: The role:
- Provide specialist nursing expertise within an interdisciplinary framework to assist individuals and their families/carers to adjust to living with diabetes and/or other endocrinology conditions including the provision of education and health promotion activities.
- Act as a clinical resource for internal and external stakeholders, including community organisation(s) and health professionals, to provide specialist advice, knowledge and support.

- The Diabetes Centre involved with multidisciplinary clinics with endocrinologist and consumer focused.
- The Diabetes Centre team encourages sharing of knowledge and experience from all staff members.
- The Diabetes Centre encourages reviewing processes and quality improvement projects.
Details of Appointment
Permanent, part time, day worker position working 56 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $103,466 – $109,165 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
- Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Credentialed with the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (CDE)
- Member of the ADEA or other relevant professional organisation(s)
- Holds, or is working towards, a relevant postgraduate qualification
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted: * Conviction checks in the following areas:
