Job description: An exciting opportunity is currently available for an experienced Clinical Nurse (Diabetes Educator) to join the Integrated Care Services Team at the Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The Wide Bay area is arguably one of the most beautiful regions of Queensland. The Health Service stretches from Agnes Water in the North to Maryborough in the South and provides acute care services to a population of over 225,000 residents including several rural communities.

Your opportunity:
- The purpose of the role is to provide expert specialised interventions, including education and insulin stabilisation for patients with diabetes. The position will also provide profession specific management, in addition to Diabetes Education, to patients with Diabetes.
- To provide expert clinical and patient-centred care within Diabetes Education. Support the facilitation and provision of quality and cost-effective nursing services which are consistent with contemporary standards and evidence-informed practice. Responsible for a portfolio with a focus on clinical care/ leadership, management, education and/or research within Diabetes Education. The Clinical Nurse practices autonomously, applies critical thinking and provides leadership in clinical decision making to give and/or coordinate care to Diabetes Education clients. The Clinical Educator reports directly to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) of Integrated Care Services.
Temporary Full Time (76 hours p.f.) from date of appointment until 30th June 2025.

Our offer
You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $128,057 p.a., comprising salary between $104,816 – $112,236 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 6 (1)) (Temporary Full Time, 76 hours p.f., from date of appointment until 30th June 2025).
