Job description: An exciting opportunity is currently available for an experienced Clinical Coordinator – Prison Mental Health to join the Prison Mental Health Team at the Maryborough Hospital & Correctional Centre within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The Wide Bay area is arguably one of the most beautiful regions of Queensland. The Health Service stretches from Agnes Water in the North to Maryborough in the South and provides acute care services to a population of over 200,000 residents including several rural communities.

Your opportunity:

  • This position provides high level consultation, advice, support and leadership to the Prison Mental Health Service (PMHS) multidisciplinary team working with people in custody who have, or are suspected of having a mental illness. The (Clinical Coordinator) is responsible for the coordination, ongoing development, review and quality improvement of the mental health services provided by the PMHS team within the correctional environment.
  • The (Clinical Coordinator) will also provide direct clinical care, including triage of referrals, assessment, discharge planning and brief interventions, to people referred to the service. In addition, this position is expected to establish, foster, and maintain relationships with a range of other government and non-government agencies, including Prison Health Services (PHS) and Queensland Corrective Services in the ongoing care and treatment of persons with a mental illness.

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $159,428 p.a., comprising salary between $128,701 – $139,732 p.a. (Nurse Grade 7) or remuneration package value up to $152,775 p.a., comprising salary between $124,435 – $133,901 p.a. (HP4), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Permanent Full Time, 76 hours p.f.) (Applications will remain current for 12 months).
