UTS Startups is a university-wide program to inspire and support new technology-enabled entrepreneurs, building the largest community of student-launched startups in Australia, then leveraging this community of 380 active startups to inspire and support tens of thousands of people at UTS, in high schools and in the public.

About the Role

We are looking for a Capability Coordinator to join our team!

Reporting directly to the Manager, Startup Support, the Capability Coordinator is responsible for nurturing and advancing a cohort of startups within UTS Startups, tailored to the specific needs of the sectors or business models they oversee e.g. EdTech, MedTech, Clean Energy, FMCG etc.

The incumbent will facilitate a program of works designed to ensure that these startups receive focused attention, resources, development opportunities and connections to thrive and grow. This includes the efficient allocation of workspaces, ensuring seamless operations for events, and maintaining a conducive environment for creativity and productivity.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Grant and control access to desk and event spaces based on requirements, reservations, and security protocols.
  • Periodically review, optimise, and rearrange spaces in accordance with changing organisational needs, safety standards, and ergonomic considerations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all cohort inquiries related to desk and event spaces, ensuring timely resolution of requests, concerns, and feedback
  • Developing a sound understanding of the specific needs, challenges, and opportunities associated with the designated cohort.
  • Organising and hosting cohort-specific events, workshops, and meet-ups to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and networking among startups.
  • Regularly liaising with other Capability Coordinators, sharing insights, best practices, and collaborative opportunities for inter-cohort initiatives.
  • Assisting in onboarding processes, ensuring startups in their cohort transition smoothly into the UTS Startups community, both offline and online

Remuneration/Salary

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $78,667 to $ $84,961 pa (HEW 5.4)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full time, and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
