Job description: The British Embassy Abu Dhabi has a vacancy for an Executive Officer Team Leader under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). This is for a fixed-term contract of one (1) year.The jobholder will be working collectively and responsibly to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the workflow section which initiates applications into the section. The jobholder will have line management supervision for up to (12) twelve AO Admin Assistants ensuring they achieve their objectives; this will be done by monitoring output and productivity for the workflow team.The jobholder will be managing the operation carefully to ensure that applications are processed within agreed service standards, deploying resources effectively to ensure that targets are met, escalating potential delays to senior managers.The successful candidate must be flexible person, who works well in a busy environment. - Monitoring the use of resources in line with organisational procedures and plans.
- Regularly reviewing procedures, working with teams to identify improvements and simplify processes.
- Invest time to generate a common focus and genuine team spirit.
- Setting clear objectives so staff are clear about expected levels of performance and tackling poor performance.
- Carrying out regular face-to-face performance reviews giving honest, constructive feedback.
- Throughout the appraisal period, carry out line management responsibilities; developing staff; encouraging equal opportunities for all, give regular feedback and promoting a working environment in which staff is able to perform efficiently and effectively.
- Update HERA system when appropriate.

- Direct line management of up to (12) twelve AO Administrative Assistants.

Eligibility
- Applicants must be able to obtain an appropriate level of UK Security Clearance and be able to obtain a valid UAE police clearance certificate.
- Applicants must be available in a full-time capacity to work on site at the British Embassy Abu Dhabi- this is not part time position or available for remote working.
- Applications will only be considered from those who are currently residing in the UAE and with a current and valid UAE resident visa.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
- Evidence of working effectively against demanding targets.
- Evidence of using your initiative for problem solving.
- Previous UKVI experience within the last 12 months.
- Good working knowledge of IT, including Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- A strong communicator with excellent spoken and written English. Ability to express ideas and messages clearly and concisely.

No accommodation and relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.This role is for a full-time employment, on a fixed term contract basis for one (1) year, subject to six (6) months’ probationary period.The Embassy is open from Monday to Friday from 0700 to 1800 hrs. The Employee’s normal weekly working hours are forty (40) Monday to Friday (inclusive). This is inclusive of one-hour paid rest break for each five (5) hours worked; the timing of the rest break shall be approved by the Employee’s Line Manager and in accordance with operational requirements.The Embassy has an active Learning and Development Committee, and the whole of Post is committed to providing the time and resources for staff to develop personally and professionally.
