Growing together.The Associate Director of provider access and network will be responsible for driving strategies defined by the CAHPS/HOS leadership team and will work with key provider partners to ensure engagement. A key responsibility of this position is to optimize insights from various data sources by partnering with data scientist to analyze and synthesize large amounts of information. This role will serve as the key relationship partner with the network team to develop & execute incentives, monitor provider disruptions, and identify where there may be opportunities to expand or improve CAHPS provider experiences. This role will report directly to the Director of provider CAHPS/HOS engagement.You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:
- Accountable for development, execution and evaluation of access, patient experience and annual care visit initiatives
- Responsible for identifying insights from various data sources and quantifying impact to CAHPS and HOS measures. Data sources include but are not limited to call data, provider ops data, CAHPS & HOS proxy survey data and other sources that may be relevant
- Serve as subject matter expert on access standards, access issues and member expectations on access
- Review data on core metrics or initiatives and produce meaningful insights
- Serve as the primary interface with various provider network teams on issues related to incentive design, provider terms and disruption reports and provider directory improvements
- Partner with MAPCPI teams to evaluate incentive programs and help refine them to ensure adequate coverage and inclusion of priority providers and contracts
- Develop action plans and demonstrate thought leadership in partnership with key partners to inform or escalate executive leadership team of any barriers to execute
- Provide critical thinking and decision making in various aspects of key strategies and serve as the main point of contact for all network partners
- Coordinate all elements of the PX program including cross functional coordination and cooperation to ensure timely and effective decision making on key issues
- Closely partner with more than 10 matrix partners and provider facing teams including QFO, ACO, Optum Health and Well Med, market and contract leadership to drive performance on our Patient Experience survey while ensuring collaboration and transparency
- Develop with Director of provider engagement’s organizational structure and resource allocation between geographical locations to assure the most efficient and successful operational results for both east and west region
- Develop and maintain superior communication strategies that inform CAHPS/HOS leadership team of progress and barriers
- Develop and implement strategic and operational plans to achieve quality and affordability targets

- 5+ years of experience in leading significant and diverse operations in the healthcare services industry
- 5+ years of experience, with demonstrated functional knowledge, process improvement initiatives
- 3+ years of experience in Medicare specific Star Quality measures and performance metrics
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other related business applications
- Knowledge of provider access and network
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of the managed care/health insurance industry, products and services
- Knowledge of CAHPS & HOS measures, patient experience, and survey administration
- Knowledge or experience in provider-facing roles
- Knowledge or experience with data analytics

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
