The Assistant Director will manage operational systems such as StarRez, oversee a live-in Residential College Operations Manager, and lead cross-functional coordination for housing assignments, break logistics, and budget oversight. The role demands strong leadership in managing housing data systems, on-call support, and strategic planning across NYUAD’s Residential Life platform.Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor the Residential College Operations Manager through weekly check-ins, trainings, and leadership development
- Direct all undergraduate housing operations for four residential colleges, including room assignments and housing transitions
- Lead StarRez operations, housing lifecycle processes, digital workflows, and collaboration with IT and data teams
- Coordinate early arrival, summer, and semester-break housing along with billing and contract logistics
- Manage housing operations budgets, fines, inventory control, and reconciliation with student finance
- Maintain oversight of housing-related web content, communications, and student-facing tools
- Represent Residential Life in university-wide working groups and contribute to annual strategic planning
- Participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation to respond to student housing emergencies and facility-related issues
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Higher Education, Business, Counseling, or related fields)
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in residential or student affairs
- Strong administrative, technical, and leadership skills
- Experience managing housing systems like StarRez and platforms like Monday.com or Hiver
- Knowledge of budget forecasting, billing, and operational compliance processes
- Demonstrated ability to work across departments in a fast-paced university setting
- Excellent communication, discretion with confidential matters, and service orientation
- Ability to lead teams, handle emergencies, and develop scalable systems and solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, Business, or related field
- Experience supporting an international student population and multicultural residential community
