GENERAL DESCRIPTIONArmour Academy Professional Advisors are full-time staff positions that report to the Director of the Armour Academy in the Armour College of Engineering. They are responsible for the initial onboarding and ongoing academic advising of approximately 200-250 engineering students within one or more degree programs in partnership with additional student success partners in the . In addition to traditional academic advising, Professional Advisors will work very intentionally with each student to develop a personalized plan to develop the traits of the Armour Engineer. This will involve developing customized plans for each student to participate in a broad portfolio of curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular opportunities available within Armour College of Engineering and across Illinois Tech in conjunction with the .The Armour Academy consists of a team of professional advisors, engineering professional mentors, and faculty partners that will guide each student through the development of their personalized plan and provide the resources necessary for them to realize it. Additionally, the student success team will encourage, motivate, model, ensure equitable access, and resource a personalized set of pathways for each student that guides them in their utilization of Armour-centric and campus-wide student success resources. For example, Armour Academy Advisors will refer students to a specific Faculty Partner as needed for additional academic and career advising, discuss undergraduate research opportunities, graduate school, etc.The salary range for this role is $50,000 – $55,000 and is commensurate with experience.Our commitment to employee well-being is reflected in our competitive benefits package located here:

Key Responsibility
- Promote engineering student awareness and use of academic resources, such as the Academic Resource Center, Academic Affairs, Financial Aid, Career Services, and other administrative offices.
- Process petitions and requests for course repeats, course substitutions, late registration and withdrawal, etc.

Key ResponsibilityHarvest student-success data to track student success metrics and proactively work with the Armour Academy to improve overall retention, policies and procedures, and student outcomes through a continuous-improvement process.
