The Area Manager will oversee day-to-day operations within one of the core fulfillment teams-ensuring safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement across Amazon\’s supply chain functions. You’ll lead 80 to 120 warehouse associates, manage KPIs, and implement workflow optimizations that enhance customer satisfaction. As part of a cross-functional leadership team, you will also drive quality, inventory accuracy, and employee engagement in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a fulfillment center team of 80-120 associates
- Supervise core workflows: receiving, storing, picking, packing, or shipping operations
- Drive productivity, quality, and safety targets across shifts
- Implement continuous process improvements using lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Manage staffing plans, performance reviews, and associate development
- Partner with cross-functional teams to solve real-time operational issues
- Monitor and report key performance metrics and support strategic goals
- Maintain a strong presence on the floor to coach, mentor, and lead by example
- Champion health and safety compliance in all operational areas
Job Requirements
- Bachelor\’s degree or 2+ years of Amazon FTE experience
- Minimum 1 year of team and performance management experience
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physically capable of handling carts and product loads up to 100 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with performance metrics, lean process improvement, or Six Sigma
- Proven success in a high-volume logistics or warehouse environment
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
