Based just outside of the Melbourne CBD, these roles present an opportunity to work for a large Federal Government within a Service Design and Improvement Branch. In the branch the Guidance Lead is responsible for leading work whereby they work with stakeholders to translate policies and operating procedures into plain language or guidance for access. They are the subject matter experts regarding the operational guidelines they are creating and will provide assistance to stakeholders in how to interpret and apply this information

We are seeking candidates with exceptional written communication skills, making this role perfect for individuals with a background in governance, policy, or communications. Demonstrated prowess in stakeholder management is a must, as successful candidates will engage with a diverse array of internal and external stakeholders, acting as the agency’s representative to gather essential feedback for refining guidelines.

Duties and responsibilities in these positions include but are not limited to…

  • Leading the development and updating of internal and external guidance with a participant focus that reflects the Agency’s policy positions and meets our plain English and accessibility standards.
  • Listening and responding to feedback from participants and disability peak bodies to ensure the participant is at the centre of all Agency’s guidance.
  • Understanding of the key stages of the participant pathway, specific participant cohorts and technical processes within SAP CRM and PACE business system requirements.
  • Analysing supporting data and systems to develop internal and external guidance that reflects the Agency’s policy positions and best practice.
  • Initiating, establishing, and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Representing the branch as a guidance subject matter expert in multi-disciplinary teams and providing guidance expertise and advice for the delivery of requests from the Agency’s executive, Board, Minister and other Australian Government Departments in a timely manner.
  • Supporting continuous improvement for all branch deliverables, including maintaining best practice and identifying and implementing innovations.
  • Managing multiple priorities while maintaining high work standards, governance protocols and accuracy, meeting defined timeframes and performing other duties as requested.

The ideal candidate for this role will be professional, confident and have demonstrated experience in the following areas…

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex information into clear, easy to understand reports.
  • Ability to undertake data and system analysis to gather evidence based information and provide advice to the branch about opportunities for improvement
  • Implementing work plans, setting tasks and priorities and managing workflow.
  • Managing multiple priorities while maintaining high work standards and accuracy, meeting defined timeframes and performing other duties as requested.
  • Ability to work under limited direction, guided by policies, accepted standards and precedents.
  • Ability to solve complex problems by gathering detailed information, analysing and investigating options and outcomes.

Although not essential, the following qualifications/experience will be held in high regard when shortlisting application;

  • Understanding of the NDIS and the NDIS Act 2013.

What will you need to be successful in this role

As this role will be working within a Federal Department, it is essential that you:

  • Are an Australian Citizen
  • currently hold or have the ability to pass a national police check
  • Availability to work full-time hours Monday – Friday on a long term basis
