The Role
As a Program & Innovation Support Manager, you will be required to have an in-depth knowledge of, and compliance with, complex information and knowledge management methodologies, legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

The role will require complex problem solving, risk and issues management and may include detailed or sensitive information which impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes for Defence.

The main responsibilities for the Program & Innovation Support Manager role are:

  • Manage the Dismounted Combat Program knowledge and information repositories, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and Defence policies, processes and procedures.
  • Manage the Dismounted Combat Program programmatic governance activities and external committee reporting requirements.
  • Support the SO1 Innovation lead in the day-to-day management of Dismounted Combat Innovation System activities.
  • Effectively manage all programmatic stakeholders both internal and external to Defence.

About our Team
The Dismounted Combat Program team delivers, sustains and iteratively enhances the ‘Soldier Combat System’ in order for Australian Defence Force dismounted combatants to maintain a capability advantage. The program executive is located in ACT with teams located in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. The team is a mix of military, APS and contractor workforce.

Our team is customer-first and user-centred as the platform for the Dismounted Combat Program is the human or dismounted combatant. The program equips the individual with the ‘Solider Combat System’ to deliver capability within designated roles and operational environments.

The team is passionate about improving service delivery and enjoys the challenge of working in a fast paced, challenging and rewarding environment supported by the Dismounted Combat Innovation System. This system provides the team an agile governance architecture for innovation and experimentation activities to reduce program risk and ensure external platforms are effectively integrated with the ‘Soldier Combat System’.

Expected salary: $88175 – 100724 per year
