The Apprentice Horticulturist is a key part of the Horticulture team who will learn all aspects of botanical horticulture. This role will contribute to the delivery of horticulture activities including garden maintenance, living plant collections curation, plant conservation, turf care, plant records, plant health, biosecurity, storage and use of hazardous substances, and irrigation and learn from experts in the field of Horticulture.What You’ll Bring
The successful candidate will have a keen interest in horticulture, with a willingness and desire to learn about all aspects of this profession. You will have a customer-centric approach to work, with excellent communication skills and the practiced ability to speak to people of all backgrounds. You will approach work with a flexible, constructive and collaborative mindset, have good attention to detail and the confidence and curiosity to ask questions and seek clarification when needed. You bring a positive mindset and good work ethic to everything that you do and be prepared and willing to roll your sleeves up to any task. You are reliable, punctual and professional, and are now available to commit to a three-year apprenticeship with the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria.
